It's official, it's spring time! Today marks the first day of spring and this beautiful weather is making it clear that winter has left us (we hope!). To celebrate springtime and look forward to this wonderful weather, now is a good time to start considering your garden. Of course, having a garden in the city is not easy, but you can still make it work with a few tips and tricks.
Pretty simple and straight forward, potted plants are very standard and effective. You can always keep a few in a sunny room or a balcony and grow all sorts of things. If you happen to want tomatoes or cucumbers for salads this summer there's no reason why you can't get some large pots and grow your own. There's a certain sense of accomplishment that comes with being able to grow your own salad, and it's a lot easier to walk out onto your porch or balcony and pick a vegetable than it is to make a run to the supermarket.
Potted plants can make for beautiful decorations indoors and outdoors too. Planting some nice bulbs in a deep pot or a variety of different flowers are a beautiful way to remind yourself that it's springtime. When those flowers are in bloom nothing is happier than those bright vibrant flowers.
Another way to change it up with flowers is to put some flower boxes out. They act as a part of the exterior of your home and they're fairly versatile. You can change your flower boxes with the seasons or each year and really spruce up your place. They're also fairly low maintenance for the majority of people that are constantly on the go.
Never forget that you can always clip your flowers too and use them as centerpieces or decorate any room in your home while making it all smell like spring and summer. There are plenty of ways to bring spring into your home and create your own garden space. So enjoy this beautiful weather and start planning your gardens! Take in everything spring has to offer and remember summer isn't too far away!
